Department of Electrical Engineering » Laboratories

The department is equipped with modern state-of-art laboratories as below:-

  • Electrical Machine Laboratory
  • Control Engineering Laboratory
  • Circuit & Measurement /Power Electronics Laboratory
  • Power System Laboratory
  • Simulation Laboratory
  • Renewable Energy Laboratory

1. Electrical Machine Laboratory

The laboratory was established in 2010. It facilitates the experiments required for the Electrical Machine-I and Electrical Machine-II curriculum. The lab is well equipped with all machine setups required for the purpose. The lab staff strives to produce correct and useful results that address the needs of the university. The laboratory is soon to be equipped with a setup of virtual machine system to perform different tasks of electrical machine drives in same platform with greater ease and efficiency.

2. Control Engineering Laboratory

Being the youngest laboratory of the department, the lab is well equipped with modern equipment. The process control trainer module is used to perform experiments on controlling schemes of various physical processes like fluid level, flow rate, pressure control in tank, temperature control, etc. Equipped with a DAQ system the module provides the flexibility of real time control using a Personal Computer (PC).

The laboratory also has a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) trainer module for performing experiments on industrial automation needs and control schemes. Besides this the lab provides exposure to the students with its LabView kit of Speed control mechanism of a servomotor.

3. Circuit & Measurement /Power Electronics Laboratory

This laboratory is established with the establishment of National Institute of Technology, Arunachal Pradesh (i.e., in the years 2010). This laboratory is well equipped with recent advance equipment for various practical, such as, transducers & sensors, all AC and DC bridges measurements, LVDT, high voltage power electronics, etc.

4. Power System Laboratory

This power system laboratory is established with the establishment of National Institute of technology, Arunachal Pradesh (i.e., in the years 2010). This laboratory is well equipped with recent advance Transmission Line Simulator (TLS), with capacity of performing 10 to 12 experiments on live transmission lines, such as, analysis of line faults, capacitance compensation of lines, Ferranti’s effect, Surge Impedance Loading (SIL) and many more.

5. Simulation Laboratory

Simulation laboratory was established in the year of 2010 with the objective of providing computational facilities to the students. The laboratory has fifteen (15) numbers system with high end configurations providing fast computing speed. They are installed with software packages like Power world simulators, Latest version of multisim from NI, MATLAB 2014, and many more for the need of different courses as per the academic curriculum.

6. Renewable Energy Laboratory

Renewable Energy laboratory was established in the year of 2010 with the objective of providing analytical facilities to the students. The laboratory is equipped with Wind emulator, with real time calculations with sophisticated control system. The experiments list are so designed to cater knowledge of renewable energy to Students with simple and lucid manner and are framed as per the academic curriculum.
